Why are statistics shown in such a generalized:specific way?
"You have a 1 in 268 chance of dying in a fall and a 1 in 1.3 million chance of dying from a shark."
Well, when you compare the general death “fall” and the specific death “shark,” obviously the numbers are going to greatly vary! They’re not even being measured on the same scale.
You have a 1 in 3 chance of dying from a disease and a 1 in 5.673 billion chance of dying from a plane crash on your way to Iowa from Wisconsin.
WHAAT Maybe taking the WIS-IWA flight isn’t so bad…
